There is an exuberant amount of pressure on modern-day medical students to both understand and utilise copious volumes of information – all so it may be readily implemented into clinical practice. As a team of doctors with years of experience in a wide range of specialties, this completely resonates with us. We also have a deep appreciation for the fact that the majority of medical textbooks are simply unfit for the purposes we need them to serve.

Whilst there is certainly a role for encyclopaedic-like medical books, we believe that the optimal learning resources are ones that keep the student in mind. We think that medical resources should be easily digestible and formatted in a way that enables the fundamentals of the topic to be learned. By having these fundamentals, it allows you to develop much more of an expertise in the area and to retain much more information than otherwise possible.

The main objective of the Crash Course Series is to make an effective everyday study companion designed for medical students with their medical examinations in mind.

Crash Course Series

In this series, we set ourselves a number of goals we wanted to achieve:

  • Provide students with all that is needed to succeed in their examinations to a very high level
  • Save our students valuable time through an intelligent and practical organisation of our series
  • Ensure our series is clearly presented in an easy and no-nonsense user friendly-format

We have recently published our 5th edition series of books building on our 20-year history, finely tuning and updating each subsequent volume to ensure we are capturing relevant information required for today.

The scope of the Crash Course Series

We cover the full range of specialities to give you the best possible resource-breadth for your exams.

Our current series include the following:

All of our volumes are written by senior medical students and junior doctors, and are quality assured by our expert Faculty Advisers to ensure that we meet the direct needs of our students.

Who is this best suited to?

We have honed the volumes of our series to meet the requirements of today's medical students. However, health students and professionals across the board – including physician associates, nurses and therapists – will also gain a great amount from our unique approach.

We believe whether you need to get out of a fix or aim for a distinction that our Crash Course will provide you with the tools to do just that.
